Located at the top of the shopping mall "KITTE" right beside Tokyo station, is the French restaurant "Arcana Tokyo".

The concept of the atmosphere being "the forest, water and four seasons of Izu", the elegant restaurant is uniquely arranged with elements from the nature, such as tables made by woods from Izu.

You can enjoy the romantic night scenery at the main dinning, widely opened towards the terrace filled with refreshing greens.

Generally, we tend to be cautious about the calories we take when eating out. We miss the healthy food especially when we have too much business meetings.

French food has the impression of using a lot of butter and heavy cream, but at "Arcana Tokyo", you will be able to enjoy a natural-minded French food that avoids butter and heavy cream as much as possible.

Many executives choose to have their reception dinners here because of the healthy menus they have using lots of fresh vegetables.

"We have a total confident in the ingredients we use", says chef Akito Iino.

He only uses the "truly tasteful ingredients", which he tastes himself, from vegetables of familiar farmers in Izu, to meat, seafood and seasoning.

The menu is put together depending on what the freshly delivered ingredient is for the day, which is another reason why they have fans that come for their sensitive taste of season changing.

They also have a high reputation on their delicious dessert as well as their main.

The dessert that patissier Hiroaki Tanaka creates on the plate is modern art itself.

It is one of those rare restaurants where you can use casually for a girl's night out, or with some close friends, or for special occasions in your life like business dinners and anniversaries.


Chef Profile

Chef/Akihito Iino飯野昭人

Born 1983 in Fukushima. As a little child Iino has always loved creating things and dreamt about becoming a cook. At the age of 19, he was introduced to work at a French restaurant in hayama. After 4 and a half years of learning from the bottom, he went to France. After 5 years studying in Normandy, Ile-de- France, Côte d'Azurl, in 2011, he came back to cook at "Benoit" in Aoyama. At 2013 Iino has started to work at "Arcana Tokyo" and is the chef since 2015.



What is most important for you when cooking?
I try to have fun with it. And I tell that to all my co-workers too. Of course at times it isn't easy, but I think emotions easily appear in your face and effects in the dish, so.
What did you learn in your time in France?
That people in France are so good in switching their on mode and off mode. When it's time to do it, they do it! Need less to say how much I learned about the essence of French cooking, I also learned how important it is to manage times when you focus and when you relax.

Pâtissier/Hiroaki Tanaka田中宏明

Born 1981 in Yamanashi. Ever since he was a child Tanaka has loved sweets and chose to become a patissier. After graduating the confectionery course of a culinary school, Tanaka satarted working foe Palace hotel Tokyo. After working for several restaurants, from the opening of "Arcana Tokyo" he has been the Chef patissier.



Why did you become a patissier?
I have loved sweets ever since I was a child, and when I started making parfaits at a part time job when I was in high school, I had so much fun that I decided to become a patissier.
I love to eat, not only sweet things, so I go out to eat a lot for the purpose of studying too.
How do you spend your holidays?
I often go to museums and galleries, or go to the mountains.
I get inspirations from art pieces and the nature sceneries and sometimes recreate that in my presentation.
